Description:Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are community leaders and have been accepted to a four-year college. The award recognizes students who exemplify the commitment, ideals and courage that Anne Frank represents today. Examples of such activities include:

• Acting as spokespersons for tolerance;
• On a daily basis, having the courage to be bridge builders and peacemakers;
• Creating and/or participating in programs that address intolerance, violence prevention and conflict resolution;
• Standing up against intolerance by leading or participating in community-based organizations.

Requirements: 1-page (250 words) essay describing contribution(s) they have made to society in the spirit of Anne Frank. The essay should reflect upon a personal experience that demonstrates a commitment to peace, taking a stand against discrimination of any type, reaching out to underserved community members, or working with an organization that brings diverse people together. Applicants are also required to provide two letters of recommendation from supporting sponsors (excluding family members) who are personally familiar with the applicant’s contributions.

The winning applicant receives a $10,000 scholarship;
Runners up receive $1,000.

Advice:Not too time consuming. Essay topic is relatively "easy", as it is a personal statement. Very generous winnings. However, will need accomplishments/activities (see above).
